Getting Started

Moving from Conflict to Resolution

The first step is recognizing your desire to prevent or end a conflict, and your willingness to engage in dialogue with the other party to find a resolution. You don't need to know how to do this – that's our role. When you contact Onley Mediation, you'll connect with Tracy who will address any initial inquiries and conduct a telephone intake with you. This includes discussing the nature of your dispute, your objectives for mediation, and the other party's interest in participating. You'll receive a copy of the Agreement to Mediate to review before your first meeting with the mediator, during which fees will also be outlined.

Following the intake, Tracy will meet with you and the other party separately, in-person or through Zoom, for a confidential and thorough pre-mediation session. At this meeting, you'll arrange your initial retainer fee payment, and the mediator will review the fee structure with you.

Once both parties have completed their pre-mediation sessions, Tracy will schedule your first mediation session at a mutually convenient time and date. Typically lasting 2 to 3 hours, the session will focus on an agenda jointly developed by both parties. Tracy will facilitate an open dialogue aimed at fostering mutual understanding and reaching agreements that satisfy all parties involved.

If agreements are reached and the dispute is resolved to everyone’s satisfaction during this session,  Tracy will prepare a Mediated Summary Report capturing the decisions made.

For more complex disputes requiring multiple sessions, the Mediated Summary Report will be drafted after the final session.

We would love to connect with you!
